Passport and ID

All guest must bring a valid passport when travelling to Norway.

Weather

Cold with occasional snowfall in the winter and mild during the summer. Due to the golf stream the coastal areas have a milder climate all year round. The weather can change quickly so prepare for all occasions.

Norwegian Crown. There are several banks and ATMs and most shops and restaurants accept all major credit cards.

Transport and infrastructure

Good infrastructure and highways to and from the larger cities. Keep in mind that Norway is a country with some mountain terrain with narrow and steep roads. Car ferries are commonly used in the coastal areas. All cars must have studded tires when visiting Norway during the winter season. Remember that it is compulsory to have your driving lights on even during daytime.

Public transport is good with frequent train departures between Oslo and major cities. Travelling by train is an excellent way to explore Norway and enjoy the beautiful scenery at the same time. Most regions have regional bus services.

Opening hours

Most shops open at 10:00 and close at 17:00 on weekdays (09:00 - 15:00 on Saturday). Shops are closed on Sundays.

Shopping centres and supermarkets are usually open a little longer (closes around 20:00 or 21:00)
