Telemark’s six ski resorts offer fantastic skiing experiences for all ages and skill levels: Lifjell Ski Centre, Haukelifjell Ski Centre, Gausta Ski Centre, Rauland Ski Centre, Vrådal Panorama Ski Centre and Gautefall Ski Centre. Together, they feature more than 100 slopes and hundreds of kilometres of well-groomed cross-country trails. Whether you are a beginner, an experienced skier or travelling with children, you will find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the snow. The resorts cater for alpine skiing, slalom, telemark skiing, off-piste adventures, snowboarding, sledging and more, with dedicated children’s areas at several locations.

Peaks Above 1,500 Metres
The region is home to several impressive mountain peaks rising more than 1,500 metres above sea level, including Store Nup on the Hardangervidda plateau (1,661 m), Husnuten in Rauland (1,609 m) and the iconic Gaustatoppen, which reaches 1,883 m. Whichever summit you choose, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Norway’s stunning mountain landscape.

Rauland Skicenter
Rauland Ski Centre is one of Norway’s largest ski destinations, offering unforgettable skiing experiences for the whole family. The ski area is divided into three sections: Tiur and Holtardalen feature 11 lifts and 25 runs, while Vierli offers dedicated beginner and children’s facilities. The longest run stretches an impressive 3.4 kilometres.
Visitors can enjoy varied terrain and 150 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails (the longest run stretches an impressive 3.4 kilometres), as well as access to ten mountain peaks rising more than 1,000 metres above sea level. After a day in the snow, a selection of restaurants and cafés provide the perfect place to relax and refuel.

Vrådal Panorama Skicenter
Vrådal Panorama Ski Centre is a family-friendly winter destination that truly lives up to its reputation as a modern ski resort for all ages. The resort features 18 slopes covering a total of 15 kilometres and eight lifts, including an eight-seater chairlift.
With runs for every skill level, Vrådal is ideal for alpine skiing, slalom, telemark skiing and snowboarding. Families will appreciate the dedicated children’s area, while cross-country enthusiasts can explore 40 kilometres of well-groomed trails through forests and mountain landscapes. After a day on the snow, two winter-season restaurants offer a welcoming place to relax and enjoy a meal.

Gausta Skicenter
Located at the foot of Gaustatoppen, Gausta Ski Centre offers 13 lifts and 37 slopes for all skill levels, as well as excellent children’s areas and terrain parks. With over 85 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails, it is also a paradise for Nordic skiing enthusiasts. For an unforgettable mountain experience, take the Gaustabanen railway to the summit of Gaustatoppen and enjoy spectacular views before relaxing at one of the resort’s many restaurants and cafés.

Lifjell Skicenter
Lifjell Ski Centre is an ideal destination for families and beginner skiers. Located on a mountain plateau between Seljord, Notodden and Bø, the resort offers gentle slopes and dedicated learning areas, including a beginner-friendly run and lift. More experienced skiers can enjoy a selection of varied slopes, while cross-country enthusiasts have access to 80 kilometres of groomed trails through beautiful mountain scenery surrounded by peaks reaching up to 1,300 metres above sea level.

Haukelifjell Skicenter
Haukelifjell Ski Centre is a paradise for off-piste enthusiasts, offering six lifts and 16 wide slopes with a vertical drop of 370 metres. The longest run stretches over 3 kilometres, providing plenty of space for enjoyable skiing. Families will appreciate the dedicated children’s area, while cross-country skiers can explore 65 kilometres of groomed trails in varied mountain terrain. Nearby, visitors can also discover some of Hardangervidda’s highest peaks, including Store Nup at 1,661 metres above sea level.

Gautefall Skicenter
Gautefall Ski Centre & Ski Lodge is a family-friendly resort located in the scenic Gautefall mountains between Drangedal and Nissedal. The resort features 11 slopes for all skill levels, a modern six-seater express chairlift, a ski lift and two conveyor belts that are ideal for children and beginners.
Cross-country enthusiasts can explore kilometres of marked and groomed trails across Gautefallheia, while Bjørnehiet offers a cosy atmosphere to relax and unwind after an active day on the slopes.
