Active holiday in Skeikampen

Skeikampen offers several hiking trails through the breathtaking Norwegian mountain landscape. In fact, many consider Skeikampen to be the best place for mountain biking and off-road cycling. Understandably, as there are plenty of exciting cycling routes available at an altitude of 800 meters. If you're in the mood for some more relaxing activities, there are numerous opportunities for fishing in the many lakes and streams. Or how about a visit to the Skei Golf Club? Here you will find an exciting 18-hole course that is among the most beautiful in Norway and one of the highest in Europe.

Lillehammer

Lillehammer is only half an hour's drive from Skeikampen. So don't hesitate and visit the cozy and charming town at the northern end of Lake Mjøsa. For culture enthusiasts, there are several exciting museums – for example, the Lillehammer Art Museum, Norway's Olympic Museum, and Norway's largest cultural-historical open-air museum, Maihaugen. If you feel hungry, Lillehammer offers everything from small, cozy cafes to gourmet restaurants, with both local dishes and plenty of delicacies from international cuisine available. If you want to shop, for instance, the Strandtorget shopping center has more than 60 stores.

The Olympic spirit in Lillehammer

Originally part of the Olympic arenas built for the 1994 Winter Olympics, the Olympic Park is now a theme park filled with fun and spectacular activities. For instance, try a ride on the bobsleigh track, where you race downhill in a wheeled bobsleigh. It's a fantastic journey with a high fun factor. Or enjoy the view from the top of Lysgårdbakken – a former Olympic ski jump. There is also a huge paintball field of 7,500 m2 in a Norwegian forest area and many trails for roller skiing.
