Things to do

Take your children to the lively museums Krøderbanen, Villa Fridheim or Blaafarveværket and give them an exciting and fun insight into Norwegian history. Or spend a day at Vassfaret Bjørnepark, where you can get up close and personal with bears, moose, deer and goats in a natural environment.

Vassfart Bear Park – Bears and moose face to face

Wild bears lived in Vassfart until 1972. Today, Vassfart Bjørnepark has redesigned the area so that the animals are back in their rightful element. Among bears, elk, deer and farm animals, you can stroll the park's Tarzan course or settle in with a picnic basket at the park's lavvo or barbecue area. The park also has a paddling pool and there is a zookeeper school during the summer holidays.

Krøderbanen – the living museum on rails

Every Sunday throughout the summer, an old vintage train with a steam locomotive and teak wagons runs on the 26 kilometer long railway line between Vikersund and Krøderen in Buskerud. Sit back and enjoy the historical journey through time.

Villa Fridheim – an adventurous timber castle

Villa Fridheim is one of Norway's best-preserved wooden buildings and the hall of the charming mini-castle is decorated with impressive fairytale paintings. The rooms of the fairytale castle are full of princes, princesses and trolls from Norway's well-known fairy tales.

Blaafarvevaerket - Safari tour in the cobalt mine

The eight-kilometer-long Blaafarveværket Museum combines art, culture and nature in a variety of exciting experiences for the whole family. The cobalt mines have guided safari tours that take you through the spectacular man-made landscape of the mines. In the large park at Blaafarveværket, lunch can be enjoyed at tables and benches along the river, which also invites you to take a refreshing swim in the park's swimming area.

Norefjell Golf

The course is beautifully situated on the Noresund between Norefjell and Krøderfjorden. The course is open to everyone and is characterized by a relaxed atmosphere, fresh mountain air and silence. A day here offers relaxation for body and soul!
