Hovden is all about family‑friendly, varied skiing experiences—and it all starts in Tusseland. This sheltered beginner area is designed especially for young children, offering playful elements like fun figures, small roller‑coaster-style waves, rolling hills, and gentle slopes that help kids build confidence before moving on to bigger challenges. With its safe environment and engaging activities, Tusseland is the perfect place for little skiers to take their first turns.
Hovden Alpine Center offers plenty of excitement for adventurous skiers and snowboarders. In the fun park, there’s space to test your acrobatic skills, challenge your friends, and practice on well‑groomed features like rails and jumps. The large area also includes open slopes and forest runs that provide great opportunities for off‑piste skiing. And when evening comes, the illuminated slope invites you to enjoy skiing under the floodlights.
Cross-country skiing is fantastic throughout Norway, but in Hovden it truly stands out. The trails are of such high quality that the area is used as a training ground for some of Norway’s – and the world’s – best cross‑country skiers. Most of the well‑marked routes are groomed for freestyle, and the network stretches over 170 kilometres. A floodlit trail is also open daily until 23:00, allowing you to enjoy skiing long after the sun has set.
