Color Club membership conditions and terms of agreement

The following terms and conditions apply to the signing of a Color Club membership agreement.

The conditions that currently apply to the creation of a profile can be consulted here.

In order to enjoy the Color Club benefits, you must provide proof of Color Club membership when booking travel and when making a purchase on board. When you book travel or make a purchase on board using your membership details, Color Line stores the following data: data concerning your booking, your on-board purchases, the price of your purchases, bonus points, time and place of purchase and your feedback (e.g. if you take part in customer surveys).

You can revoke your consent to this data being gathered at any time by cancelling your membership and requesting that Color Line deletes the information they store about you.

However, travel may also be booked and purchases made on board without providing your Color Club membership details. In this case, your booking and purchasing behaviour will not be linked to your membership account and the data will not be stored as outlined above.

As a Color Club member, you are automatically granted access to “My page”.

“My page” allows you to:

  • update your profile and manage your consent
  • view your current points and previous trips
  • book additional services for your trip
  • change your password

Color Club member rules and conditions of participation

  • All legal persons over the age of 18 are entitled to become members. Membership cannot be transferred to a third party. In the event of a death of a member, the membership can be transferred free of charge to the widow/widower or to the partner of the deceased for the remaining period of the membership. If the widow/widower or the partner of the deceased is already a Color Club member, the remaining bonus points can be transferred to their account.
  • Color Line reserves the right to gather, store and process the personal data required for participation in the Color Club.
  • Color Line AS in Norway is responsible for gathering, storing and processing the personal data that you provide to become a member of the Color Club. Color Line AS has signed a contract with Color Line GmbH in Germany for the processing of contract data.
  • Color Club has the right to send you information related to your membership, as well as the current status of your bonus points.
  • Color Club reserves the right to amend the terms of membership, provided that one month’s notice of amendments is given. In the event of any amendments, these will be published online at www.colorline.de/colorclub.
  • The bonus points collected can be used to pay for all or part of future trips with Color Line, with the exception of Color Line travel that includes overnight accommodation on land, most special travel offers booked with a discount code, free trips booked with a voucher, or free offers.
  • Bonus points will neither be rewarded for travel paid for in part or in full with bonus points, nor for free trips (paid for by voucher) and specific special offers.
  • Bonus points are valid for a period of 2 years from the departure date of the trip for which they have been awarded.
  • Bonus points that have not been awarded can be credited to a member’s account within a period of one year following date of travel.
  • Personal data will be used to manage your membership and for marketing purposes.

Duration of membership and membership fees

  • Color Club membership costs €11 per year.
  • You may cancel your membership by giving one month’s notice. Membership fees that have already been paid cannot be reimbursed.
  • If membership is not cancelled at least one month before the end of the contract, membership will automatically be renewed for a period of 12 months. Before the membership agreement expires, we will send you an invoice for the membership renewal fee. You will also receive an email reminder. Provided that the membership fee is paid on time, your membership will be renewed and you can continue taking advantage of all the Color Club benefits.
  • If the membership fee is not paid on time, membership will be terminated. In this case, you will no longer be able to take advantage of the Color Club benefits and you will lose your bonus points. Your “Color Club membership with customer profile” will be downgraded to “Customer profile”. We will save your Color Club membership profile including the data it contains (with the exception of bonus points) for a period of 12 months in case you decide to renew your membership within this time frame.

Booking procedures and check-in

  • In order to enjoy Color Club benefits, you must provide proof of Color Club membership when booking travel or when making purchases on board.
  • Color Club members must log in with their membership number or with their email address and password in order to book travel online.
  • The membership number must be entered every time that you make a Color Line travel booking. This also applies when redeeming vouchers.
  • If you are booking travel at the special Color Club members’ price, you must travel as a member on this trip. The trip may not be transferred to third parties.
  • Bookings can only be made at the Color Club price when booked directly with Color Line.
  • Your membership card must be presented at check-in. If you are unable to present your membership card (e.g. because you have forgotten it), you can only take advantage of the special member conditions associated with your travel ticket when you present valid photo ID.
  • Special member conditions will only be granted on board upon presentation of your membership card.
  • New members may not take advantage of the special Color Club member conditions until Color Line has received payment of the annual membership fee.
  • In the event that several members are travelling on the same booking, all membership numbers must be entered at the time of reservation.
  • Special Color Club offers cannot be combined with other Color Line offers.

The sending of offers and information based on past purchases

By signing a Color Club membership agreement, you give your consent that Color Line can:

  • send you promotional communication and other information by mail, digital channels, SMS or email. You are able to choose which method of communication you prefer for receiving offers and information from Color Line. You can manage your own “Communication preferences” on “My page”.
  • gather data relating to your usage behaviour. This data gives us insights about which digital marketing content you are interested in. For example, we gather information about whether you open a newsletter, or whether you click on links or on digital advertisements contained within the newsletter.
  • merge your personal data and use it for the purposes of advertising, or to send you other information, e.g. via social media and other digital communication channels.
  • store information about your membership and use it for administrative purposes and for the continuous improvement of both the Color Club and the Color Line travel portfolio. This data will also be used to establish customer insights to enable a better understanding of our customers, to analyse member preferences and to enable us to test new booking solutions and other systems that the Color Club uses. The objective of this is to continuously improve the Color Club and member benefits.

You are able to revoke your consent to the gathering and use of your data for the purposes outlined above at any time.
